How does solar power work?
Solar Panels convert sunlight to direct current (DC) electricity. The inverter converts DC into alternating current (AC) electricity. The electrical panel sends power to your lights and appliances.

What are the financial benefits of solar energy?
When you install a solar energy system on your property, you save money on your electricity bills and protect yourself against rising electricity rates in the future. How much you can save depends on the utility rates and solar policies in your area, but going solar is a smart investment regardless of where you live.
Do solar energy systems need a lot of maintenance?
Practically none. Solar energy is the quintessential low-maintenance technology; outside of the occasional cleaning with soap and water, neither solar photovoltaic panels nor solar thermal collector coils will require much attention at all. If any debris should fall on them following strong winds or a storm, it should naturally be removed, but because these systems are made of durable materials and don’t have moving parts, they can usually continue operating for 30 or 40 years with very little trouble.

What are the advantages of going to solar?

Can Solar, power all my items for my home or business?
It all depends on your current electricity needs, but this is where we come in, making sure that the solution we recommend is optimal for your electricity needs i.e. it can support your current consumption profile and it does generate more power than you need.
Are inverters and batteries a standard with a solar system?
Inverters are standard, but storage (batteries) are only used if you want to self-consume after solar generation hours, or you want to move off-grid.
Do solar installations interfere with my current electrical connections?
No, there is no interference and we make sure that, at the end of the installation, we give you a Certificate of Compliance (CoC). This is, however, dependent upon your having a CoC before we start the work
Is solar electricity cost-effective?
Yes. Imagine the cost benefit of paying a lower electric bill, or no electric bill at all. Solar is a low-risk, high return investment that will supply your home or business with free electricity for years after the system is paid for. We will analyze your specific electric usage and calculate exactly what your return on investment will be and how much you will save over the life of the system.
Can I start with a small system and add to it later?
Yes. Our systems are modular so that you can have a small system installed and add to it in time in order to increase its capacity.
Does Solar work on cloudy & rainy days?
Solar PV panels generate power from Solar Radiation. During cloudy conditions, there are less solar radiation and thus the Solar PV panels produce less electricity. During rainy conditions there are typically no solar radiation and then no Solar PV power. In these conditions where the Solar PV generation is less, the system can use battery and / or grid power to supply the shortfall of power supply from Solar. If connected to the Grid, Grid power can be used to re-charge the batteries under these conditions. Generators can also be used to recharge the batteries.
Are Residential & Commercial Solar Systems the same?
Commercial Solar PV system are generally designed to reduce electricity costs and therefor reduce overheads, and simultaneously reducing carbon emissions. Grid Tied systems are typically implemented for businesses, as the cost per kWh installed is much lower. Subsequently the Return on Investment for Grid Tied systems are much shorter.
Residential Solar PV Systems normally includes a battery component to supply power to Safety, Security & Entertainment equipment during Loadshedding. The battery component as well as the Inverter function to manage the batteries increases the overall cost of such a system. Grid Tied systems can be implemented for Residential application to supply power demand during the day.
Are the Solar PV Panels hail and weather resistant?
Yes, the solar PV panels are designed to withstand hail and severe weather conditions.
We only use Tier 1 supplier PV Panels to always ensure best quality, reliability and efficiency.
How long will a Solar PV System last?
Solar PV Panels have a performance warranty of 25 years. The actual lifespan of the panels can be as long as 50 years.
How quickly will my solar PV system pay back its installation cost?
Solar power installation is a long-term investment. Depending on the size of your solar system, it can take between 5 and 8 years to pay for itself. After this period, it will save you money for the remainder of its life.
